Character Info
Name: Jihao Huang
Age: 25
Canon: Original Character
Canon Point: After living in Taipei for over a little over two years now, his Mother and Sister have been steadily getting more and more anxious for him to visit them. He liked his solitude away from home and was putting it off as long as possible. After a fairly long call with his Mother (whom almost started crying while talking about how much she missed him) he finally gave in and bought a train ticket back to Hualien.
The ride is roughly a 3 hour trip and he has prepared for it accordingly. Putting on his noise cancelling headphones and turning on his mp3 player, he gets himself comfortable in his seat and relaxes, watching the passing scenery. It's not long before he drifts off, and upon waking up, he realizes he is alone on the train- actually, no, this isn't even the same train...
World Information: He would be from the same modern world and time that we (OOC "we") live in.
Personality: Jihao appears to be extremely well put together, knows what he wants, and will do whatever he can to obtain it.
Outwardly, he tends to be prideful (bordering on rude and self-centered, in some cases), confident, and even a bit libidnous. He's very meticulous about his looks and appearance, never going anywhere when he feels as though he looks bad in any way. He's very social and friendly toward others, open to new relationships, and will have no shame in flirting with someone whose his type.
Inwardly, however, he's quite different. He has trouble coping when things go wrong, is very easily stressed out, extremely self-conscious (which is why he is so meticulous), and generally has a strong fear of failure. He does his best to hide these things, try to exude this air of perfection in both mind and body- really trying to convince himself that he is who he pretends to be, rather than anyone else. Most of these things become more obvious the longer he's forced to go without a cigarette.
While he prefers to be alone, he also can't stand it. Being alone means being left with his own thoughts and memories, and being left with the things he tries to escape. Putting up a front to other people may be tiring, but it's also distracting and sometimes distractions are life saving.
If some one does manage to get close to him, they will be one of the most important things to him- second only to music and his guitar, of course. Be it Family, friend, or lover, the people who are important to him are one of very few things that keep him going, and he does his best possible to make sure that they never forget that. He tends to be especially doting and affectionate towards his Mother, never wanting to see her upset or unhappy. (And his lovers, but that's a different kind of affectionate.)
Background: He had a mostly alright childhood. Raised with a loving Mother, a good yet very busy Father, and the typical noisy little sister. He encountered a fair bit of teasing growing up, due to his pale blue eyes- Scientifically, they aren't anything special. Some how both parents must have been carrying the gene, and some how the gene passed down just the right way into Jihao. But it's still a rare and nearly unheard of trait in an otherwise full-blooded Asian.
Once he began hitting his teens, though, the teasing and mocking got a bit more relentless. He started straying more and more from the normal lives teenagers in Taiwan lead. His father pressured him into getting into sports to socialize more, and after a bat to the face during baseball practice (that has permanently left his bottom front teeth in a dissarray when before that he was lucky enough to have them all mostly straight) he dropped and refused to take on any more sports. He started finding himself getting into music, instead.
First it was bands like Mayday and Gemini, but eventually moved on to heavier music like Chthonic and Silent Hell. In his gradual transformation into the typical teenage rocker phase, he attracted the attention of one of his classmates, Cindy, whom also liked this kind of music.
To be honest, Cindy was the last person he'd have ever expected to like rock music (She looked more like a Soft Lipa type) but he was happy to have some one to get along with all the same. The became very good friends and by the time they were both 15, he asked her to be his girlfriend. She happily accepted. Chinese and Taiwanese music wasn't the only kind of rock music she listened to, however. She introduced Jihao to rock music from all over the world, his favorites being American and Japanese. (Mostly Marilyn Manson and Sugar.) This inspired him to go searching for his own music on occassion, when he discovers German gothic and rock bands- Blutengel being his favorite, which also becomes his favorite band. (And Chris Pohl, their vocalist, being his sudden realization that he clearly bats for both teams.)
His increasing love for music of all types and languages inspires Cindy to get together with his family and they all come together to buy him his first accoustic guitar for his 17th birthday. He immediately adapts to playing, teaching himself all the notes and strings and techniques. It doesn't take long for everyone to realize his natural talent for the guitar- as if he was born to play it.
After graduating high school, and continuing to date for a while, Jihao was finally prepared to ask Cindy to marry him. He talked things over with her family, his own family, and prepared to surprise her that Spring... Unfortunately, fate was not in their favor. That Winter, on New Years eve, Cindy was out with Jihao and their friends. They had gone to the beach to party and hang out and do what 18 year olds do. Everyone else had long gone by the time Jihao and Cindy were ready to leave (*ahem*) and while walking back to their hotel, they were both struck by a drunk driver who was running the light as they were crossing the crosswalk. Jihao made it, albeit with some serious injuries. Cindy did not.
This would be where Jihao's downward spiral in alchohol and chain smoking began. After a few years of self loathing and depression, his family became more and more worried and began begging him to let them help him. He never could really open up to them, it wasn't really his thing. When he turned 23, *he dyed his hair blue (Dying because he refused to cut it after how long he had been trying to grow it) and moved to Taipei in a last attempt to start his life over. There he entered National Taipei University, going to school for Architecture, taking some side classes in English and German, and working part time in a small restaurant, eventually becoming a cook for them. Like music, he took to cooking pretty naturally, and managed to impress his bosses. Which is probably lucky for him, since before then guitar was really his only non school-related skill.
After that, he just lived day-to-day, trying to revitalize his life.
(*ooc: this is where his history changes from my head-canon since it will suit the story of the game way easier than my headcanon would. hahaha)
Abilities: A talented self-taught guitarist with a preference for metal and speed-playing. Not a professional cook, but is still moderately above average in his cooking abilities. (He relies a little too much on seasonings, to be completely honest.) And is a fairly good architect with a personal love for old gothic type buildings, like really intricate Cathedrals.
Inventory: His accoustic guitar (Never goes anywhere without it) kept in a soft cover case with a strap that he can sling over his shoulder to carry it on his back. A large carry on travel bag with wheels, containing the obvious things you'd have planned for a 10 day trip- clothes, toiletries, makeup, hair crap, 2 spare boxes of virginia slims, laptop, cords for his few electronics. And, of course, his in-use box of cigarettes and lighter in his jacket pocket, and wallet, mp3 player, and cellphone in whatever other pockets they fit in. (Unfortunately, his electric guitar and amp was left at his home world apartment... Guess he'll have to find a new one while he's here!)

[Considering I've somehow found myself in New York, I guess I need to put my English to good use...]
Can anyone tell me what the fuck is going on?
This asshole that pulled me off the train is completely useless and won't tell me anything.
I was on a train going from Taipei to Hualien! How the hell is it possible that I ended up in New York!? Am I dreaming? I can't think of another reason.
My cellphone won't work, either! I'm not even underground anymore, I left the station already and am trying to make my way to the hotel.
Ah, well, I suppose it wouldn't work in a different country, nevermind that.
I can't fucking think straight.
[He fumbles through his pockets, pulling out a cigarette and lighting it, taking a long drag and already feeling a tiny bit more relaxed.]
He said I wasn't the first this happened to. Does anyone know what's going on at all?
Sample Prose Entry:
The train stopped, stirring Jihao from his nap. He took off his glasses and rubbed the bridge of his nose and around his eyes and looked up. His jaw dropped and he tensed up.
What the hell? This wasn't the train he was on- he looked down at his watch- 20 minutes ago!? He put his glasses back on, seeing a man approach him and attempt to rush him out of the car. He said nothing to the man, just grabbed his bag and his guitar and made his way off the train, feeling anxiety slowly building up inside him.
A man was waiting for him as soon as he stepped off the train. He fumbled through his pockets while the man was speaking to him, trying to catch what he was saying even though his mind was racing. He arched an eyebrow as the man suggested he choose between the two phones.
He really didn't like the idea of an invasion of privacy with the Masters being able to poke around as wanted, but he disliked the idea of literally any other person to see whatever he was doing at any random moment even more. He opted for the phone that wasn't known for malfunctioning.
After the man seemed to be finished dodging questions and giving vague explainations, he seemed to accept his fate and left the station, attempting to go on his way and figure out exactly what was happening and whether or not he was dreaming.
